Knights of Columbus host classic car show in Village Square

Though raining all week, the Classic Car Show in Walden this past Saturday was all sunshine, as many showcased their classic and modern cars, trucks, and everything in between at Village Square.

Hosted by Knights of Columbus 9254 Walden, the classic car show has been going on for years. It’s a chance for beloved car and truck owners to display their vehicles and win trophies in numerous categories.

Lined up throughout the square were vehicles of different colors, models and sizes with their hoods popped up and owners in lawn chairs behind their prized possessions. Some cars/trucks even had facts and other memorabilia in the car. Those interested paid a small registration fee to showcase their car from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Judging began at noon and winners were then announced at 2:30 p.m. There was also food and drinks to purchase, as well as music and raffles.

One attendee was Gerard Richter and his 2011 Ford E-150 Van that he completely remodeled. People were even allowed to walk into it and see the woodwork, memorabilia and more.

Trophies were awarded for best in show, people’s choice, mayor’s choice, special interest. best Mustang, best Mopar, best import, best Hot Rod, best general motors, best Ford, best Corvette, best American Muscle, modern truck, newer truck, classic truck, American classics 1920 to 1959, and American Classics 1960 to 1979.

Those who bought raffle tickets had a chance to win a 50/50 or prize items such as a PBF Cafe gift certificate, multi-item baskets, a car cleaning kit, wine and more.
