At approximately 7:10 a.m. on July 15th Town of Montgomery Police responded to a head on motor vehicle accident on State Rt. 52 in the area of Holiday Park Rd. State Police, Town of Montgomery EMS and Walden Fire Department were also dispatched to the scene.
Callers to 911 reported an entrapment and cars on fire. Officers arrived to find one of the vehicles involved engulfed in flames. The occupants of the other vehicle were assisted by a passerby and moved away from the crash. One occupant was trapped in the vehicle that was on fire. the occupant was unable to be removed and pronounced deceased at the scene.
The deceased is identified as Chelsea Roman, 25, of Walden. The occupants of the other vehicle were transported to Garnett Hospital in stable condition.
