Walden set to host Christmas in the Square

The Village of Walden Recreation and Parks Department will bring season greetings to the village with its Christmas in the Square, a holly jolly event that will be hosted in the municipal square on Thursday, December 7 from 6:30 p.m. to 7:50 p.m.

The evening will begin with a performance from Kevin Cronin at 6:30 p.m., followed by the Freedom Road Bible Church’s reenactment of the Live Nativity. The New York School of Music will sing Christmas carols at 7:10 p.m., and the Walden Elementary School Choir will continue the music at 7:30 p.m. The night will end with the village’s tree lighting at 7:50 p.m., featuring a visit from the elusive Father Christmas himself, Santa Claus.

Following the tree lighting, families can visit St. Andrew’s Hall to take free pictures with Santa and enjoy treats from the Walden Women’s Club and Walden Community Council. The Walden PTO will host arts and crafts throughout the evening, and Thruway Ace Hardware will offer free hot chocolate. Operation Dalmatian, a nonprofit organization, will also accept toy and gift donations.
