Two new officers are joining the Walden Police

Walden Chief of Police William R. Herlihy is thrilled to introduce two exceptional individuals who are joining the Walden Police Officer Ariana Kirschner a 22 year-old dynamo from the Montgomery area. Ariana pursued her passion for criminal justice, earning an associate’s degree from Orange County Community College. Her commitment to community outreach and genuine desire to make a difference are the driving forces behind her decision to join the Walden Department.

Officer Peter N. Tetukevich, a 23 year-old has roots in Sloatsburg. Peter’s path to law enforcement was deeply influenced by his family’s storied history in NYPD, with his mother, father and grandfather all serving with distinction. Starting his academic journey at Rockland County Community College, he earned an associate of science degree. Peter furthered his education at the University of Albany. Now he is committed to upholding the mission of protecting and serving our community and the constitution.

Happy Birthday greetings from family and friends to Janet Lynch Williamson who celebrates her special day on March 15. We wish her all of life’s best.

M. P. B. Knights of Columbus Council No. 9254 provides take-out Lenten Dinners on Friday Nights during Lent until March 22. On the March 15 menu is Parmesan Tilapia, Garlic Mashed Potatoes, Vegetable, Biscuit, and Cookies.

Meals are $10 each. Pre Orders and Take Out Only. Leave a message by 11 p.m. Thursday, March14 with your order at 845-972-2303 to reserve your dinners. You will be put on the list. Leave your name, phone number and number of meals. Pick up at M.P.B., Fr. Sullivan Hall. between 5 - 6 p.m. On March 22 the menu is 2 Battered Cod Fillets, French Fries,Vegetable, Roll and Cookies.

The community is invited to attend the installation of The Rev Nicole R. Hanley, as Priest -in-Charge of St. Andrew’s Church in Walden and St. Francis of Assisi Church in Montgomery. The special service will be held on Saturday, March 16 at 3 p.m. at St. Andrew’s Church. 15 Walnut Street, Walden.

The Ret. Rev. Mary D. Glasspool will preside and the Rev. Cn. Victor Conrado will preach. A reception will follow in the church hall.

Join Fox Hill Bruderhof, 80 Coleman Road, Montgomery,on Saturday, March 16 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. to celebrate Spring and maple syrup. Note the slightly different location. The 7th and 8th grades are your hosts. From 208 it’s the next driveway after the farmstand. This event features crafts: ceramics, woodworking, Easter decor; baked goods, breads, pies,cakes and cookies, maple syrup, live music and dances. Refreshments include pancakes, homemade donuts, and hot drinks.

Village of Walden Recreation & Parks Department will hold a Food Planter Workshop for Kids on Monday, March 18, at 6 p.m. at the Anita L.Vandermark Community Center, 97 Sherman Avenue, Walden. Join Cesar A. Bobadilla for a hands-on learning experience on how to plant and grow food. Bring the family out for a night of fun! Please register using the google form link prior to the event.
