Heaven became a happier, more active place when God called Tom home on December 16, 2020.

Tom was born to Edward LaForge and Teresa (Colantuono) LaForge in Middletown, NY on May 20, 1956.

Tom graduated from Pine Bush High School, Class of 1974.  From a very young age, Tom’s loves were his step-grandfather, his dogs and sports (Little League to High School basketball to Adult soft pitch ball).  He was an avid Yankees and Green Bay Packers fan.  His words were “are there any other teams?”  He loved to watch his grandsons play any kind of ball-always with words of encouragement.

Tom raised, bred and hunted Brittany Dogs for over 40 years, with puppies all over the country.  Tom was a Corrections Officer for 31 years at Wallkill Prison in Wallkill,.

He leaves behind his forever-loving wife Nancy; three step-sons who adored him, Kevin (Kelly) Weymer, Craig Weymer, and Steven (Toni) Weymer; and forever-in-his-heart Grandsons, Brayde (Little Man), Jacob (The Mayor), Austin (Goose), Brody and Logan.  He also leaves behind his sister Lena (Martell) Bruce, nieces and nephews, and all of his friends.  Anyone who knew him-LOVED him.  He will be missed daily and NEVER forgotten.

Visitation will be held on Monday December 21, 2020 from 2-6pm at William M. Gagan Funeral Home Inc. 1525 Burlingham Rd Pine Bush, NY. A funeral mass will be celebrated at 10am on Tuesday December 22, 2020 at the Church of the Infant Saviour. Burial will take place in New Prospect Cemetery. Due to COVID-19 restrictions capacity is limited. Face mask and social distance requirements  mandated by NYS are in effect.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St. Jude’s Hospital and/or Cochlear Implant Awareness, and/or Pediatric Hydrocephalus Foundation.
