To preface my remarks, I must say,  that the staff at the Montgomery, NY post office and delivery, are the greatest!

My wife’s birthday was on the 4th of the month and her friend in Oneonta mailed her a card on the 1st postmarked Syracuse. The card was received at our address in Montgomery, NY on the 8th.

To prove a point, I mailed a blank envelop, addressed to me, at the outside box on Sunday the 10th, I just received it at home on Saturday the 16th, all of about 3 blocks!

My letter probably went to Stewart depot, Albany, back to Conn. over to Stewart, to be picked up by the little delivery trucks, sorted and then delivered.

If you “Google” PONY EXPRESS, it will indicate the riders traveled 75-100 miles a day  (7 to 12 miles between horses and all for a bag of oats.)

BE ALERT: my wife mailed two bill payments,  7 days before the due date, guess what, she was charged $15 and $30 for late payments.  Thank you USPS.
