Having devoted much of my life to service as both a Vietnam veteran and a former local union president, I see a kindred spirit in my daughter-in-law, who now seeks to serve our community as a mayoral candidate. While our experiences differ, the commitment to the greater good remains a shared value that transcends our respective journeys.

My military background has taught me the importance of sacrifice and service, shaping my perspective on community engagement. Witnessing my daughter-in-law enter the political arena reflects a similar dedication to our community’s welfare. In the military, standing up for what one believes is right, even when challenging the status quo, is paramount. Her candidacy mirrors this spirit.

Despite not following a traditional political path, her willingness to step into local politics stems from a conviction that she can contribute to a better future for our village.

Just as military service involves putting oneself at risk for the broader mission, her decision to run for mayor is rooted in a genuine desire to address the needs and concerns of our residents. While not involving combat, the challenges she faces demand courage, resilience, and a steadfast commitment to tough decisions for the greater good.

In my years as a local union president, advocating for the working class and fostering community was crucial. Similarly, her candidacy emphasizes inclusivity, economic development, and addressing pressing issues that resonate across our diverse population.

Though our contexts differ, the underlying theme remains constant - a commitment to service, sacrifice. and a belief in something greater than oneself. In these challenging times, we need leaders willing to forefront collective well-being. I proudly endorse my daughter-in-law’s mayoral candidacy.
