Shirley A. Klopp of Wallkill passed away Saturday, February 10, 2024, at home surrounded by her beloved family. She was 78.
The daughter of the late John and Olive (Hathaway) Beekman, she was born September 7, 1945, in North Tarrytown, NY.
She was the widow of her first husband Anthony J Margotta and later second husband Stanley Klopp.
Shirley was a beautiful woman inside and out, who loved her family and her unique Sullivan County home in the woods. In recent years she moved to Wallkill, NY to live out her life with her granddaughter Tiffany, husband Chris and their two daughters Raelyn & Savanna. Shirley enjoyed long shopping trips with Tiffany, with whom shared an inseparable bond. She enjoyed a nice hot cup of coffee, knitting, and crafting with her great grandchildren. She loved nothing more than spending quality time with her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. Shirley also cherished her time with her dear friend Susan Tucker, who she enjoyed strolling craft stores and doing any crafty project with. Shirley loved to curl up with a cozy blanket and any Stephanie Laurens book or a good mystery program. She also enjoyed baking her famous cookies and cheesecake everyone loved. Shirley found joy in cooking for her family.
Shirley had a true love for gardening. Any time spent outside enjoying a beautiful landscape was time well spent. An English landscape was her favorite. Shirley had a special love for the holidays and enjoyed sitting around the dining room table with her family reminiscing about younger years. She had a witty sense of humor and always knew exactly how to make her family laugh. Shirley had a huge heart for animals, especially her own dog and cat. She loved to sit outside and watch for hummingbirds and butterflies who visited her patio often. Shirley will be deeply missed by her family. Cherished memories will hold her close to their hearts.
Survivors include her son Anthony Margotta & fiancé Vicky Mcdonald, Son Chuck Margotta & wife Julie Margotta, son Christopher Margotta, daughter Theresa Lewis, daughter Diane Taylor and son-in-law Paul Taylor; granddaughter Tiffany Fox & husband Christopher Fox, grandson Anthony Margotta, grandson Tyler Margotta, grandson Codie Lewis, granddaughter Sierra Lewis, granddaughter Madison Lewis, granddaughter Kayla Hyland, granddaughter Courtney Hyland, and great-granddaughters Raelyn Fox and Savanna Fox
Cremation will take place privately.
Memorial contributions can be made in Shirley’s name to the Walden Humane Society, 2489 Albany Post Road, Walden, NY 12586.
