Rita J. Stay, a retired Certified Nursing Assistant with the former Orange County Infirmary in Goshen, passed away peacefully at her home on Tuesday February 8, 2022. She was 78.
The daughter of the late Joseph Frank Jr. and Laura Rose Frank, she was born on September 2, 1943 in Suffern, NY. Rita was a member of the Walker Valley Seniors.
Survivors include her daughter; Laura Vitaliani and husband David of Pine Bush, daughter; Cheryl Taylor of Pine Bush, son; William G. Stay Jr and wife Maria of Pine Bush, daughter; Joyce Lynn Berdecia of Port Jervis, daughter; Sharon Dashnau and husband Edward, 9 grandchildren; Kathleen, Devon, Jonathan, Blake, Brandon, Jessica, Samantha, Dylan and Edju, 7 great- grandchildren; 2 sisters; Harriet Bicknell of Rockland, and Maryann Sibelli also of Rockland. Rita is further survived by several nieces and nephews, and is predeceased by her 2 sisters; Patricia Gooler and Shirley Minerick and her 4 brothers; Thomas Frank, Richard Frank, James Frank, and Joseph Frank.
Visitation will be held on Saturday February 12, 2022 from 4-7pm at the William M. Gagan Funeral Home Inc. 1525 Burlingham Rd Pine Bush . Funeral services will be offered at 7pm at the funeral home. Cremation will be private.
