Welcome to the January edition of our community column. Please remember that this column runs on the third Thursday each month. We kindly ask for your news submissions for the upcoming month by the second Thursday of each month.

Happy Valentine’s Day to all our readers! May your day be filled with love and joy.

Community Announcements:

• Easter Flower Sale: Get ready for the Pine Bush Fire Dept. Ladies Auxiliary Easter Flower Sale. Stay tuned for more information on this exciting event.

• Giving Tree: If you are in need of a warm hat, gloves, or scarf, please stop by the Giving Tree next to the UFO Museum. Also, if you have extra items, consider contributing to the tree to help those in need.

• Board of Education Meetings: The next Board of Education meetings will be held on Tuesday, January 23 at 7 p.m. at Circleville Middle School and Tuesday, February 6 at 7 p.m. at Pine Bush High School.

• School Closure: Pine Bush Schools will be closed on Monday, February 26.

• American Legion Post 1308: All veterans are welcome to join the American Legion Post 1308 meetings on the first Thursday of each month at 1 p.m. and the second Thursday at 7 p.m. Building rental is also available, contact CDR Dan Dambrozio for details.

Library News:

• New Year Activities: Start the New Year with new activities at the library. Join pinochle on Mondays, Scrabble on Tuesdays, Bridge on Thursdays, and knitting and crocheting on Mondays.

• Upcoming Programs: AARP tax season begins on February 2, with programs running until April 12. Kevin Cannon will talk about Basic Garden Designs on Friday, February 9 at 6 p.m. Valentine’s Day treats and social time on Tuesday, February 14 from 2 - 3:30 p.m.

• Library Challenge: Read a book with the word “snow” or “snowman” in the title, and participate in the snow-themed challenge.
