Maurene Rene Dobens, 64, of Maybrook, passed away unexpectedly, Wednesday January 26, 2022.
The daughter of David Buchalter and the late Muriel Spadoni Buchalter, Maurene was born April 21,1957 in Newburgh, NY.  Maurene grew up in Flushing, NY and moved to Walden at an early age.
Maurene was a graduate of Valley Central High School. It was there she met the love of her life, her husband Jeff.  They married, started their family and moved to Maybrook to raise their three children, Jessica, Brian and Jennifer.  After working as a bookkeeper for many years, her dream and passion of being a nurse became reality in 1998 when she graduated from SUNY Orange with her Nursing degree. The majority of her nursing career was spent working at St Luke’s Cornwall Hospital. Maurene loved being a nurse and lived her life to make a difference in the lives of so many. Her patients and her coworkers loved her beautiful smile and her dedication to her nursing skill.
Among Maurene’s true passions in life was helping others.  She was caring, considerate, kind, compassionate and loving.  She always thought of others before herself.  She lived by the Golden Rule.  Treat others, as you would want to be treated.
Maurene’s other passion in life was her 5 grandchildren.  It was here that Maurene’s true love of life was on full display.  She loved spending time with them, taking them camping, going on vacation with them, cooking for them, watching their sporting events, playing with them or simply just watching them grow up.  She will be immensely missed by all of them.
Survivors include her husband Jeffrey Dobens of Maybrook, her father David Buchalter of Walden, NY, children Jessica Ronaldson and her husband Alfred of Montgomery, Brian Dobens and his wife Karla of Albany, and Jennifer Dobens of Maybrook, her beloved brothers, Dr. Gregory Buchalter and wife Connie of Colorado Springs, CO and Scott Buchalter and wife Dori of Wallkill; Grandchildren AJ, Ava, and Luke Ronaldson, Amelia Dobens and Everly Karpowicz Dobens and many loving cousins, nieces and nephews.
