Joan Burkinshaw Czerniawski 93, of New Hampton, passed away peacefully on January 23, 2022 at Bon Secours Hospital.
She was born on the family farm in Pine Bush NY on May 22, 1928 to the late Andrew & Jeanette Burkinshaw. Joan loved the farm life and spoke about it often. She loved animals (especially cows), crosswords, an avid reader, playing games on her computer and playing cards with her friends at the Senior Center. Mom loved John Wayne, Johnny Cash & Dr Pol. While raising 4 rambunctious daughters, she managed to get her college degree in the evenings. She worked for the Pine Bush school bus company for over 25 years.
Joan and John loved to travel to be with their grandchildren, whether it was Pine Bush, Florida or New Mexico. She was recently thrilled to have 3 great-grandchildren. She will be missed by all. She is survived by her daughters JoAnn, Judy, Jane & Jean (Ken). Grandchildren John (Lacey), Amanda (Tyler) & Claire (Trevor). Great-grandchildren Lennox, Cayden & Averie. Many nieces & nephews. Joan is predeceased by her husband of 60 years John J. Czerniawski, brother Alan, sisters Janet Eskew & Joyce Monaco.
