Helene Ruhaut, a home maker and resident of Clifton NJ and Pine Bush NY , passed away on Friday November 5, 2021 at Garnet Health Center in Middletown,. She was 88.
The daughter of the late Ignatius and Wanda Kukla, she was born on September 1, 1933 in France. Helene lived in Newark NJ with her late husband Robert C. Ruhaut, and moved to Clifton, NJ where she made a beautiful home for her husband, children, and grandchildren.
She took pride in her home and enjoyed, cooking, baking, and especially growing beautiful roses, flowers, and vegetables in her gardens. Helene was a devoted mother to Nelly Starke and her husband David of Pine Bush and the late Jacques Ruhaut, loving grandmother to Jonathan Starke and his wife, Danielle, Matthew Starke and his wife, Brittany, Andrew Starke and his wife Braiden, Patrick Starke, and the late Thomas Starke, loving great grandmother to Adelaide Gale, Landon Cole, Holden Greystone, Teagan Rae, and Hannah Mary Starke. She is also survived by her sister, Jeanine Szymoniak and the late George Szymoniak, and her brother, Richard Ossowski and his wife, Patricia. Visitation will be held on Friday November 12, 2021 from 9am-10am at the William M. Gagan Funeral Home Inc. 1525 Burlingham Rd. Pine Bush. Mass of Christian burial will be offered at 11am at the Church of the Infant Saviour. Burial will take place in New Prospect Cemetery immediately following.
