Georgette Linder, a resident of Pine Bush, passed away at her home on August 27, 2022. She was 97.
Georgette was born on April 30, 1925 in Manhattan to George and Gertrude Pyritz. She graduated from Mount St. Ursula Academy in New York City, and became the first woman Executive Director of the Rockland County Home Builders Association and was a sales executive for New York Life Insurance Company. Georgette was active in the Democratic Party and served on the board of elections. She also served as a docent at Constitution Island on the Hudson for a number of years. Georgette was very knowledgeable with a sharp mind, along with a great sense of fashion.
Survivors include her two daughters, Barbara Dunning of Pahrump, Nevada, and Geri Popet of Westbrookville, as well as one granddaughter, Monique Morano, and two great grandchildren, Andrew Morano and Alexis Morano, who she was very proud of. Georgette will be missed by her family, friends, and her beloved cat Paris.
A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. Contributions may be made to the Walden Humane Society or St. Jude Children’s Hospital, Memphis, TN.
