Feller could replace Brescia in Orange County legislature

Posted

The Town of Montgomery and the Town of Wallkill boards will hold a special joint meeting on Wednesday, January 3 at 6:30 p.m. in the Montgomery Town Hall at 110 Bracken Road, where officials will vote on an appointment for a new legislator to represent Orange County’s 9th District.

Steve Brescia, former legislator of District 9, recently resigned after becoming the Town of Montgomery’s newest supervisor. Whoever fills the position will serve as legislator for one year, Brescia’s remaining term, and must then run for a four-year term in 2025.

Currently, both town boards are considering Ronald Feller, former Town of Montgomery supervisor, for legislator. If Feller is appointed, he and Brescia would have their roles reversed.
