Daniel F. Francabandiero, 74, entered into eternal rest on December 10, 2020 at home with close friends by his side.
Dan was born on July 23, 1946 in Walden, NY. He graduated from Wallkill Central Schools in 1964, and went on to earn his Bachelor of Music from the University of Tampa, FL, class of 1969. Dan served as Chancel Choir/Bell Director and Organist at Riverside Park United Methodist Church in Jacksonville, FL. He retired in 2012 after 40 years of music ministry.
Being a church member since 1981, Dan served on many committees and teams at Riverside Park UMC. Most recently he was serving as Church Treasurer, Historian, Staff/Parish/Relations and Finance Committees member as well as church office volunteer.
Dan was also a member of the American Guild of Organists, the Fellowship of the United Methodist in Music and Arts, the Chorister Guild, Handbell Musicians of America, and Jacksonville Piano Teachers Association.
Traveling was also a passion of Dan’s and he was an avid traveler. He was fortunate to travel Europe, especially visiting his longtime friend, Dominique Crosnier.
Dan is preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Mae Hedin Francabandiero; and brother, Joseph H. Francabandiero.
He is survived by his sister-in-law: Sarah O’Shea Francabandiero, Walden, NY; three nieces: Deborah Brewer and her husband, Russell of Oneida, NY, Christine Turley and her husband, Michael of Albany, NY, and Michelle Francabandiero of Walden, NY; aunts, uncles, cousins, and great nieces and nephews. Dan was blessed to have a close group of colleagues and friends in music and ministry that shared his vision.
Memorial Services will be held Sunday, January 17 at 3 p.m., Riverside Park UMC, 819 Park St., Jacksonville, RSVP 904.355.5491 as seating is limited. A private family interment service will be planned for summer 2021 in Wallkill Valley Cemetery, NY.
