The City of Newburgh is in the midst of an investigation of a shooting that took place at 1:30 a.m. on Saturday, June 3. The city has announced that two victims were located and transported to St. Luke’s Cornwall Hospital with non-life threatening injuries to their lower extremities. The shooting took place near the area of Poplar Street and Fowler Avenue.

A Ring home security camera video shared with the Mid-Hudson Times captured audio of over five shots fired from a gun in rapid succession. The shooting appears to have started at the intersection of the road. Over a dozen individuals, appearing to be young adults, run down the hill along Poplar Street. Several cars rush off appearing to escape the scene of the shooting. A woman can be heard screaming in fear trying to locate her friend amidst the commotion.

The city has asked anyone that may have information about this incident to contact the City of Newburgh Detective Division at 845-569-7509. Callers to that telephone line can remain anonymous. No updates have been released from the city since Saturday.
