Mid Hudson set to enter Phase 4

The Mid Hudson Region is set to enter Phase 4 of its re-opening plan on Tuesday, July 7.

New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo announced during a daily COVID-19 briefing on Monday, July 6 ihat health officials have checked the data and given the green light for the Hudson Valley to continue its phased reopening.

"We continue to closely monitor the regions to track the infection and hospitalization rate and be sure neither is going up. We will tighten or loosen the reopening speed as necessary depending on the data," Cuomo said. " If we see spikes in data or lack of compliance, we will slow down the reopening and adjust accordingly. The numbers all continue to show that we are right where we need to be, but what's happening around the country is a cold reminder that we must all continue to be cautious, smart and disciplined—it's up to us New York and we cannot let one another down. "

Under phase 4, the following businesses will be permitted to open

As reported earlier, shopping malls, gyms, casinos, and movie theaters are among the businesses that will not be reopening with regions approaching Phase 4.

No decision has yet been made on whether schools will be open in September. The New York State Department of Health, in consultation with the Reimagine Education Advisory Council and others, is finalizing guidance on the possible reopening of schools in September. Every school district throughout the State has been directed to develop reopening plans.

It was also announced Monday that the New York State Fair in Syracuse has been cancelled.
