Jacobson named conference chair

Assemblymember Jonathan Jacobson (D-104) was named Majority Conference Chair by New York State Assembly Speaker Carl Heastie on the first day of the 2023-24 Legislative session.

Jacobson said, “I am honored that Speaker Heastie has chosen me to serve in this important role. As my Assembly colleagues and I begin the new session, I am energized and excited to take on the important issues facing New York State and the Mid-Hudson region.

“Creating better workforce development opportunities, holding institutions like Central Hudson and industrial development agencies accountable and combating gun violence and illegal guns are all top priorities for me.
“I would also like to remind all my constituents that my staff and I are always available if you need help dealing with a state agency, local government, utility company, or private entity. I believe that constituent service is as important as passing needed legislation.

“I have been proud to serve the residents of the 104th Assembly District for the past four years and look forward to another productive two-year term going forward,” Jacobson concluded.

Jacobson represents the cities of Newburgh, Poughkeepsie and Beacon, as well as the towns of Newburgh, Marlboro, Lloyd and Plattekill.
