Gloria Joan Dougan, of Beacon, formerly of New Windsor, entered into rest surrounded by her loving family on Saturday, September 23, 2023.  Gloria, who was known to most as “Granny”, aged 87, fought valiantly until the very end.

Daughter of the late Walter and Clydella E. (Blohm) Eisloeffel, she was born on January 26, 1936 in Cornwall.

Granny ‘s heart was devoted to her family as a loving mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. Granny cherished every moment spent with her family. She was deeply involved in her family’s lives, always present for milestones, achievements, and even the simple joys of daily life.  Granny was past president of the New Windsor Little League Auxiliary and a diehard fan of the NY Yankees.

Survivors include two sons, James (Mary) Dougan of Newburgh and Timothy Dougan of Beacon; three daughters, Gloria (John) Flanagan of North Port, ME, Cynthia Dougan of Beacon and Nancy Tancredi, with whom she resided; a brother, Donald Eisloeffel of PA; a sister, Patricia Vacca of Clearwater, FL; five grandchildren, Johnny (Melissa), Cait (Meg), Jamie (Richie), Jimmy (Cheyenne), and Kara; and five great grandchildren; Tristan, Wyatt, Rylee, Shea and Reese; along with several nieces and nephews.

Kara was at her Granny’s side throughout this long and challenging ordeal, ensuring she was as comfortable as possible. The entire family owes her a debt of gratitude for the selfless, unconditional, loving care she provided.

In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, the love of her life, James Gordon Dougan “Pop” in 2007.

Her absence leaves a void in our hearts, but her legacy of love and devotion will forever resonate.

Private cremation has taken place at Cedar Hill Crematory.

Plans for a Celebration of Gloria’s Life will be announced at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Gloria’s name can be made to Hudson Valley Hospice at hvhospice.org.

Arrangements are under the care of White, Venuto and Morrill Funeral and Cremation Service, 188 N. Plank Road, Newburgh, NY 12550.
