Newburgh City Council were presented a license agreement with Mountain Valley Guides LLC on Thursday, April 18. This agreement would allow access and use of the Washington Street Boat Launch and Unico Park to provide kayak rentals and tours. The company has worked with the city previously.

Mayor Torrance Harvey asked City Planning and Development Director Ali Church about the marketing and advertising of the company to draw more residents to the service, possibly through a sign or visual presence. Church said that the request could be made to have advertising target city residents.

Several highlights of the agreement include the period of the agreement from May 25, 2024 to October 13, 2024, the licensee (Mountain Valley) would pay to the city during that agreement period $750 and the city would allocate parking spaces with parking passes for two trucks/trailers in the parking area. The entire agreement is available for public review The item is anticipated to be voted on Wednesday, April 24.
