Newburgh City Council approved on Monday, March 25 for the city manager to apply for and accept, if awarded, a grant from the New York State Department of Criminal Justice Services under the Gun Involved Violence Elimination (“GIVE”) Partnership.
This would be a grant in the amount of $837,969 with a city match of 25% for salary and benefits for all GIVE funded positions for the period July 1, 2024 to June 30, 2025. This program would help to enhance law enforcement in the City of Newburgh to achieve sustained, long-term crime reduction.
