Bullying can lead to serious outcomes. Those who cannot handle it may withdraw, become depressed, lose interest in schoolwork, develop a school phobia, or even commit suicide. It is worse than kid stuff for the victims. When social media is used it can be especially pernicious. Gossip travels fast among the younger generation who rely heavily on it.

Superintendent of Pine Bush Schools, Tim Mains took the problem seriously. He spoke with kids who were being bullied and their parents. He attempted to engage and stop the hate filled messaging. He sought help from the police when a heavier hand was needed. Unfortunately, Tim Mains died this last month. We hope the new Superintendent will continue his work and students, parents and teachers protect those who are being victimized.
