Strada Grill is a new Hudson Valley eatery, located in Montgomery, at 1011 Rt. 17K. Previously known as Brady’s Bistro, Strada Grill made its grand opening on March 1. Strada Grill is open 7 a.m. - 7p.m. Monday - Saturday, and 8 a.m. - 4p.m. on Sundays offering dine-in, curbside pickup and delivery options with Grubhub as well as through their website. This diner offers a cozy seating area to sip coffee and catch up on work while admiring the Ducati motorcycle displayed.

Owner Philip Vurchio says that he now owns Rockwell Cycles as well at 1005 Rte. 9W in Fort Montgomery. To pay homage to Rockwell Cycles and to fuse the two business locations, Strada Grill’s name originated from the Ducati Multistrada street bike, “strada” meaning “street” in Italian. Strada Grill combines classic American cuisine with Italian street cuisine. They also pay tribute to the Ducati Italian motorcycle with their famous Ducati Melt, a spin on a classic cheesesteak, it consists of thinly sliced steak, frizzled onions, roasted red peppers, Strada sauce and a choice of cheese as well as a variety of other specialty sandwiches on their MOTO-KRAVE menu like the Ducati Diavel, the Multi-Strada and of course The Italian Classic. “If you’re gonna go look at a Ducati you should be able to get a decent burger,” says Vurchio.

Originally from the Bronx, Vurchio mentions that he was influenced by his parents, who worked in various delis and pizzarias while they were growing up. Vurchio mentions, “I’m Italian. I cook all the time at home. It’s in my heritage-” and an opportunity presented itself to bring some of that heritage to Montgomery.

The new restaurant in the Scott’s Corners Plaza also offers breakfast bowls, toast, and sandwiches like Country Comfort: two fried eggs served with buttermilk fried chicken with their special Strada Slaw and pickles on a biscuit. They also serve lunch items including a variety of wraps, a pastrami reuben and a crowd favorite, Godfather; a crispy chicken cutlet with fried eggplant, roasted red peppers, basil pesto, and fresh mozzarella on a hero. They also offer dinner items including Asian chicken and waffles, Strada cob corn with sweet and tangy pulled pork and a grilled chimichurri skirt steak. They also offer sweet treats like their mochidoki ice cream.

Living in Montgomery for about seven years, Vurchio established himself in the area and says that his motivation to open Strada Grill was “to be able to provide a place that locals are comfortable—and to bring a sense of food here that you don’t typically find in the Hudson Valley. There isn’t a casual dining place, so we brought it here–a bunch of great recipes and a lot of original stuff that we make.”

Although Vurchio operates Strada Grill in three locations including at 246 NY-17K in the Mobil gas station, he says that he is going to continue building the Strada Grill name by reinvesting in his business and expanding his business. Vurchio hopes to earn his place as a staple in the community saying that he is “happy to contribute to the community.”
