Pine Bush is fifth at OCIAA track

Madison Williams won the long jump and triple jump, and Ella Galloway won the pole vault, leading the Pine Bush Bushmen to a fifth-place finish at the Orange County Interscholastic Athletic Association championship meet on Saturday at Goshen High School.

The girls scored 73 points, and the boys’ team was second with 95 points. The Valley Central boys were 12th with Monroe-Woodbury winning the boys’ meet and Cornwall was the girls’ champion.

Williams won the long jump, reaching 18-7, and reached 37-0 in the triple jump for the victory. Galloway reached 12-6 to win the pole vault, and finished third in the long jump with a 17-1.

Nia Merritt was seventh in the long jump with a distance of 16-7.

Joshua Dymond led the boys’ team with a victory in the discus with a throw of 145-1. Elijah Cruz won the shot put with a throw of 41-6.5 and Dymond was eighth, reaching 38-3.

The Bushmen dominated the high jump as Plexico Brooks and Xavier Bacchus took second and third with respective jumps of 5-10 and 5-9. Jack Fowler was fifth with a jump of 5-3.

Justin Scott was second in the triple jump reaching 4-11.5 and Alexander Kozlowski and Aidan Steele were sixth and eighth respectively. Kozlowski and Aidan Steele were third and fourth in the long jump with respective times of 20-1 and 19-7.5.

Lavon James was fourth in the 100-meter dash with a time of 11.27, and fifth in the 200-meter dash in 23.83.
JamesMichael Vizzari was fifth in the 400-meter dash in 51.15. He also was seventh in the 800-meter run in 1:58.71.

Jack Mooney was sixth in the 400-meter hurdles in 1:00.57.

Colby Zupetz was seventh in the 3,200-meter run in 10:02.08.

The Bushmen were fifth in the 1,600 and 3,200-meter relays and sixth in the 400-meter relay.

Azaziah Marshall led the Vikings with a sixth-place finish in the 100-meter dash and Derek Vincent was sixth in the 110-meter hurdles with a time of 16.04. Vincent was seventh in the triple jump, reaching 39-3.5.
Caleb Sahlstrom was fifth in the 3,00-meter steeplechase with a time of 10:37.20.

Shaun Brown was fifth in the high jump, reaching 5-3.

The Vikings’ 400-meter relay team of Marshall, Shaun Brown, Kyle Grimaldi and Jude Remenar were second with a time of 44.93.

In the girls’ meet, Pine Bush’s Shaylen Goslar was second in the 800-meter dash and the 1,500-meter run with respective times of 2:14.14 and 4:46.71.

Williams was fourth in the high jump and Galloway was fifth with respective times of 5-0 and 4-9.

Ky’ra Coley was seventh in the javelin with a throw of 55-6.

Emilia Cruz was sixth in the shot put, reaching 29-1.5

Sienna Hunter was eighth in the 200-meter dash in 27.94.

Pine Bush’s 1,600-meter relay team was fourth and the 400-meter relay team was seventh.

Ava Carsley led the Vikings with a second-place finish in the 2,000-meter steeplechase in 7:27.39.

Catherine Primavera was third in the 200-meter dash in 27 seconds and fifth in the 400-meter dash in 1:00.65. Isabella Wade was fourth in the 100-meter dash in 12.81.

Sarah DelPilar was fourth in the 3,000-meter run.

The 3,200-meter relay team took third and the 400-meter relay team took sixth.
