Please remember that this column runs the third Thursday of each month. I need your news for one month by the second Wednesday of each month.

The Hamlet of Pine Bush is the perfect place to experience First Fridays! Join the Pine Bush Chamber of Commerce on the First Friday of each month through December, from 4 – 7 p.m. Experience live music, delicious food from local restaurants, as well as special sales offered by our small businesses and eclectic shops. Take a stroll down Main Street and enjoy our sidewalk vendors, as each artist and artisan showcases their unique wares and incredible talent!

Amazing Grace Fellowship invites you to climb aboard the Rocky Railway!

It will host FREE  vacation Bible Camp July 11—15 for ages pre school thru 5th grade, from 6:30 to 8:15 p.m. each evening Contact Kara at 914-755-8811 to pre-register. 

The church is located at 20 Warn Avenue in Pine Bush.

The Class of 1972 will be honored at Kuhl’s in Middletown on September 24 at 11 a.m. till 4 p.m.

The next Board of Education meeting will be held on Tuesday, June 28 at 7 p.m. at Circleville Middle School and on Tuesday, July 12 7 p.m. at the District Office. Check the district website to verify due to Covid. 

The Pine Bush Central School District will be closed on Monday, June 20 in observance of Juneteenth Day.

The Pine Bush Youth Soccer Club is now accepting on-line registrations for the Fall 2022 season.  Registration will be on-line only and is open from now until May to any student entering grades K through 12 in the fall. Games will be played on Saturdays in September and October at the local parks.

The Thrift Shop at Bullville Methodist Church will be open on Wednesdays  9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Call before you go.

Looking to volunteer and be part of the community? Why not join the Pine Bush Fire Dept Ladies Auxiliary. Meetings are held the second Monday of every month at 7 p.m. Stop by and join us.

The Pine Bush Area Volunteer Ambulance Corps is in need of new members. If you can give a couple hours or more a week please call 744-5391, your life might depend on them one day. 

The Trustees of the Pine Bush Area Library meets the second Wednesday of each month at 7 p.m. in the library.
The Catholic War Veterans meet the second Thursday of each month at their hall located on Center Street. The Catholic War Veterans, American Legion, and VFW are looking for new members. To join or for more information contact Ted at 744-2234.

Library news 

Summer is near and the library is getting ready for the great summer reading program called  “Oceans of Possibilities” This is for all ages from 2 to all who want to learn more about  most anything you want to learn about.  There will be reading challenges, games, crafts, stories and more.  Registration begins on Tuesday, June 21. The start date for the children’s section is July 6. Everyone must register. Non Members will be put on a waiting list.
 Grades 3 and up will be able to play chess. 

Have you read to Mocha, our reading assistance dog? Children can have a 15 minute one on one time reading to Mocha. 

How about a special day with Dad?  You are invited to go fishing with your Dad on Saturday, June 18 from 9 - 12 noon. Lunch will be provided for $5. You can bring a dessert to share if you like. Email scanglers@gmail.com to get directions.

Our library hours are now Monday,Tuesday,Thursday and Friday, 9:30 a.m. to 5 p.m., Wednesdays, 9:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. Sat. 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. The community room offers books, DVD’s, audio books. puzzles, IT help, notary services, copying, resumes, directions and more. The hours here are Mon-Friday, 9:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. and on Sat. 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Programs coming up are flower arranging, introduction to drawing, verma composting, a day on the farm at the Library, Audubon Society, Gizmo C Robot, a lecture on the Hudson river and more. Keep in touch on the upcoming events. Check with our webpage, Facebook and our newsletters for the dates and times. Come in to the library and check out our material on the programs. New players are welcome to join our pinochle game on Mondays, scrabble on Tuesdays, and chess on Thursdays all at 10 a.m.
