Giovanna C. Hannigan of Walden, passed away Wednesday, September 8, 2021,
in Walden. She was 95.
The daughter of the late Nicola Volpe and Angela Raimo Volpe, she was born January 4, 1926 in Italy.
Giovanna was a member of Sacred Heart Church, Newburgh, and was a retired central supply clerk for St. Luke's Hospital, Newburgh, NY
She was the widow of Edwin F. Hannigan.
Survivors include her sons Nicholas Hannigan and wife Susan of Pennsylvania, Edward Hannigan and wife Alberta of Newburgh, Patrick Hannigan of Walden, Lawrence Hannigan and wife Deborah of Newburgh, William Hannigan and wife Donna of Newburgh; Daughter Jennie Youmans and husband Larry of Walden; Several Grandchildren, Great-Grandchildren, and Great-Great-Grandchildren
Along with her parents, she was predeceased by her brother Angelo Volpe and sister Filomena Rosa.
Mama you will be forever missed and eternally loved, “You are my special angel”.
A Mass of Christian burial will be Wednesday, September 15, 2021 at 10am, at Sacred Heart, 301 Ann St., Newburgh.
Burial will be in Cedar Hill Cemetery in Newburgh.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital,501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
