Crawford Giving Tree continues through winter

Posted

Please remember that this column runs the third Thursday each month. I need your news for one month by the second Wednesday of each month.

Have you heard about The Town of Crawford Giving Tree? It’s located in the lot at 86 Main Street in Pine Bush, and we think it’s the most beautiful tree around! That’s because it’s decorated with donations of new, or gently used: scarves, hats, earmuffs, mittens, and gloves of all sizes.  Might you have something to donate? There’s a bin at the foot of the tree containing plastic baggies and clothes pins so donations can be placed right onto the tree. (There are even sharpie markers there to label the bag’s contents!) Or- Perhaps you, or someone you know are in need of something?
ALL are welcome and encouraged to take whatever is needed. The Giving Tree will remain standing, and restocked throughout the 21-22 winter season. Special thanks: This all stemmed from the idea of an 8 year old town resident, Michael Gessel Jr.! With some assistance; he originally set up a small donation spot in their front yard. It became so popular, that a bigger space was soon needed. Mom; Kristen Gessel proposed the idea to our Supervisor & Town Board. They were all completely supportive of the initiative and a partnership quickly formed.
