Celebrate Saint Patrick’s weekend in Montgomery

Grab a cup of coffee and get ready to read about all the great happenings in our area. 

 March 23 is the date of the  St. Patricks Day celebration  at the Senior Center. The  cost is $15 per person which includes: corned beef, cabbage, potatoes, carrots, irish soda bread.  Please call or stop in to sign up. Cut off date is Monday, March 20.  

Also coming  up is another popular Hidden Treasures with Tony Musso  on Wednesday, May 24.  Cost is $60 per person and includes the bus tour and lunch.  Please call or stop in to sign up.

Play ball!  The Montgomery Senior Center is already looking forward to games by planning,  “Take me out to the Ball Game”. On Thursday, August 24 the NY  Yankees vs Washington Nationals 1 pm game bus trip. The  bus and ticket price is  $50, please call for additional information.  

Village of Montgomery Elections are taking place on Tuesday, March 21. Let your voice be heard get out and vote. 

Ramble Day will be March 18. The committee is always looking for new organizations, businesses and families to take part in the parade. Please contact John O’Brien at 845-457-6228 or 914-755-7569. The day begins at 9:40 a.m. with the Dash Kids Fun Run, 10 am is the annual Run for the Gold 5 K and at 1 pm the St. Pat’s Ramble parade begins. 

Enjoy St. Patrick’s Day with the corned beef and cabbage on March 17. There will be a St. Patrick’s Day Mass at 5:30 pm at Holy Name of Mary-Assumption in Montgomery . It will be followed by a Corned Beef & Cabbage Fundraiser Dinner in St. Mary’s Hall.  Tickets must be purchased in advance. Call 457-1738. Prices are: adults, $25, seniors $20, children up to age 11 $10. 

Fish Fry Fridays are back. Enjoy a home cooked fish dinner on March 24 and 31 at St. Mary’s Hall in Montgomery. It is from 5 to 7 p.m. and is sponsored by the Knights of Columbus 2270. More on this to follow.

Can you believe its Kindergarten Registration time for the Valley Central School District for the 2023-2024 school. Only those children who will be 5 years of age on or before Dec. 1st. 2023 will be eligible to enroll for the school year. Registration packets will be mailed to parents in late February.

Please call your local elementary school where the child will attend ASAP to have the application mailed to you. Current VC Universal Pre-K students do not need to re-enroll for Kindergarten but should notify the School District if they will not be attending in September.

Valley Central All Night Grad Party Committee announces their 2nd annual Egg Hunt. Egg My Yard, wake up on Easter morning April 9 with a surprise from The Bunny. The cost  is 18 eggs for 20, or 3 eggs for 30.  The eggs  are filled with small toys and/or trinkets. Orders are due by March 29. For info contact heatherjurgens438@gmail.com.

Another fun “fun”draiser will be held on Friday, April 14. Sponsored by the All Night Grad Party Committee: its a Tricky Tray. It will be  at the Valley Central High School, doors open at 5:30 and calling starts at 7 p.m. A ticket is $10 for one sheet or $25 for 3 sheets,  there are over 150 baskets.
