Precision Pipeline Solutions completed maintenance and repair work in front of the former gas station at 842 Broadway that is looking to be remediated in the coming months.
Ward 3 Councilman Bob Sklarz provided an update that the maintenance work in front of the gas station appeared to be for gas line repairs/replacements that were being conducted by Central Hudson. Precision Pipeline Solutions is a contractor for Central Hudson.
Last month, the Newburgh City Council had approved the site development agreement between the city and Shaul and Eli Vaknin for the redevelopment of the former gas station for a new two story commercial space. The gas station is currently located on the West End of the city, which Sklarz represents and he has been a supporter of having the site remediated as quickly as possible.
Though this work did not appear to be related to the remediation work for the site, Sklarz plans to keep an eye on the site and hopes to see work starting soon.
The city’s executive office did not respond to a request for an update on the status of the project.
