Watch for him at Hudson, Idlewild & River in Cornwall-on-Hudson

William Greubel, a Navy veteran and town resident, was hired as a crossing guard by the Cornwall-on-Hudson Village Board last week. A couple months ago, residents raised concerns about a lack of a crossing guard at the Hudson Street, Idlewild Avenue, and River Avenue intersection. One exists at the crosswalk between the Cornwall-on-Hudson firehouse and the elementary school. The school district declined hiring a crossing guard and the Village Board felt it was a worthy investment to ensure the safety of children and parents coming to and from school in the morning and afternoon.
