The Walden Humane Society recently held a Tykes Tuesday event at the Galleria at Crystal Run to help raise awareness for their organization, recruit volunteers and maybe even place an adoptable pet in a loving home.

“We hosted Tykes Tuesday events this August to foster growth in our relationship with our community,” said Karla Leon, Marketing Director for the Galleria at Crystal Run. “These events offer free fun for children and are really well attended. The Walden Humane Society event was a great interactive event as well.”

“We had a bracelet making station where everyone was encouraged to make a name bracelet in honor of a current or past pet,” explained Lisa Dennis, “and we were really happy to see some great bracelets.”

Dennis, a volunteer coordinator, also said, “Our goal was to connect with the community by having a good, fun experience, and I think we did. We love partnering with the Galleria and hope to be back for future events.”

Leon added, “We do host non-profits year round including the Mental Health Association and the Boy Scouts. We value being a good community partner and are putting the final touches on some upcoming Halloween and holiday season events. Watch for details to be announced soon.”
