City of Newburgh Police Cars sped down Broadway last Tuesday night in a rush to reach the scene of a shooting in which two Newburgh residents were shot.

Officers responded to a shooting outside of 119 South Clark Street. The shooting was picked up by a ShotSpotter notification at 6 p.m. A total of 17 shots had been fired.

Police confirmed the two victims were Allah Gayle, age 17, and Aaron Stone, age 33. Gayle had been shot several times in the leg/abdomen area. Stone had been shot in the hand and leg. Both victims were transported to Montefiore St. Luke’s Cornwall Hospital.

Two 9mm semi-automatic handguns were recovered from the scene. No arrests have been made. The investigation is still active.
