As reported in the Daily Freeman, the Marlborough Democratic Committee learned that our county legislator is being scrutinized for possible mismanagement of funds during his tenure as treasurer of the Marlborough Youth Football and Cheerleading, Inc. While the investigation is unfolding and fluid, we are dismayed that the potential impropriety of his actions in this regard colors his role as legislator.

We are asking the office of the Ulster County Executive and the Ulster County Legislature to conduct the proper investigations, including an ethics review, into the matter. We trust this will be achieved in a timely fashion so this regrettable distraction does not interrupt the residents of the town of Marlborough’s representation in Kingston.

As this is an election year, our county legislator’s constituents are entitled to transparent and fully-informed processes allowing them an informed decision in November when casting their votes.
