Three more shooting incidents reported

City of Newburgh Police responded to three shots-fired incidents on Friday, between 9:30 aand 11 p.m.

Officers initially responded to the area of Clark Street and W. Parmenter St for a Shotspotter activation.
While searching for a scene officers were advised of 9-1-1 call for additional shots fired in the area of William Street and Benkard Avenue.
 
Officers then received a separate Shotspotter notification in the area of Bridge Street and Renwick Street. Upon officer’s arrival, two juvenile males were observed running from the area and detained without incident. Officers subsequently located and recovered a loaded .40 caliber handgun in the immediate vicinity.
The investigation is on-going and charges are pending.
 
Police are asking anyone with information to contact 845-569-3131. Calls can remain confidential. The incident is ongoing and is being handled by City of Newburgh Police Department, the Orange County Sheriff’s Office and the orange County District Attorney’s Office.
