The Marlborough NY Democratic Committee would like to thank everyone from Marlborough and beyond for attending the town Memorial Day Parade on Sunday, May 28, as well as State Senator Michelle Hinchey, County Executive Jen Metzger, County Chief Assistant District Attorney and Candidate for County DA Manny Nneji for marching with us, and Commander Tom Schroeder and the members of Viebey-Sutton Post 124 American Legion for leading the event.

We contributed to the theme “Remembering Our Fallen Comrades” with shirts reading “We honor those who died defending democracy” above headstones with six of the sixty-six religious symbols that the Veterans Administration will put on tombstones of those who served.

We invite everyone to visit the homepage of our website, MarlboroughDemsNY.com, to read the names of the fallen wartime service members from town who died in the Civil War, WWI, WWII, Korea, and Vietnam. This will become a permanent part of our site.

Thanks, again, to Tom Schroeder, Town Historian and Commander of American Legion Viebey-Sutton Post #124, for helping us find this information and to committee member Joseph Caserto for designing the shirts and webpage. We are proud to have participated in Marlborough’s observance of Memorial Day and honoring those who gave all to protect our democracy.
