Sosler’s honored for 70 years in business

Orange County Executive Steve Neuhaus visited Sosler’s Garden and Farm Equipment in the Town of Wallkill recently, in honor of their 70 years in business.

In 1952, Raymond Sosler Sr. and his brother, William Sosler, purchased Ptak’s Garage on Route 17M in New Hampton, starting the business. Over the years, Sosler’s has become a household name in Orange County for farming and garden equipment.

“The Soslers are a wonderful family and I enjoyed meeting with them,” Neuhaus said. “I certainly appreciate all that they contribute to Orange County and encourage residents to support our local businesses throughout the year.”

Ray Sosler Jr. and Raymond Sosler III are the third and fourth generation of the family to run the business that specializes in serving farmers and weekend warriors. Their main lines of equipment include compact tractors and farm tractors along with lawn mowers, zero-turn mowers, garden tractors, and hand-held power equipment. They also feature tractor attachments of all types, along with a variety of “short-line” equipment.

Sossler’s is located at 2839 Route 17M in New Hampton. Hours are Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. - 5 p.m. and Saturday, 8:30 a.m. - 1 p.m. They can be reached at (845) 374-3621.
