School district discusses the future of live streaming

Posted

The Newburgh Board of Education approved during their September 20 regular meeting to discontinue live streaming board committee meetings but will continue to have the recordings available online. The board will also continue to deliberate on the future of the live streaming for the regular board meetings.
Newburgh Superintendent Jackielyn Manning Campbell presented to the board of education that after several data reports, district parents and other stakeholders are viewing the recorded meetings after the meeting has concluded more than the live stream. On average, 39 people on average view the board meetings live, while 400 people on average watch the recorded meetings. According to Manning Campbell, every meeting the district runs costs $1,000 in overtime. The district will continue to monitor the live stream data, but no immediate decisions were made about the overall board meetings.
