Join Nick Martin, Park Educator, for a snowshoe hike in the woods of the Peter's Kill Area of Minnewaska. During this approximately two-mile recreational program, we will snowshoe the various footpaths in the Peter's Kill Area to make one big loop. Departing from the parking area, this outing will take participants on the Red Loop, Bullwheel, High Peter's Kill and Yellow Connector Footpaths, returning on the Red Loop Footpath. While the distance of this outing is relatively short, there a few sustained uphills, downhills, and rocky terrain that some may find challenging. A limited number of snowshoes are available for participants to borrow for this program from the Education Department. Please plan to arrive by 9:30 a.m. if you will be borrowing snowshoes. If there is insufficient snow cover, this program will be offered as a hike and participants are highly encouraged to bring along microspikes. All visitors, regardless of vaccination status, must wear a mask when inside buildings. All unvaccinated participants are encouraged to wear face coverings and keep a minimum six-foot distance away from others who are not part of their immediate household when outside. Meet in the Peter's Kill Area. Pre-registration is required by calling Minnewaska at 845-255-0752.
