Sandi Cassese to succeed Dan Grady at Hospice

Hospice of Orange and Sullivan Counties, Inc. announced that its Board of Directors elected Sandra “Sandi” Cassese, RN, MSN, CNS, as President and Chief Operating Officer to succeed Daniel M. Grady.

Grady, President and CEO since 1988 has announced his intention to retire at the end of 2022. Grady will remain in the role of CEO until that time.

“Sandi joined us four years ago as the Chief Operating Officer, and during her tenure, the organization has grown and prospered. As President, Sandi is responsible for all operating activities and translates the Board’s vision and strategy into action plans with measurable milestones and goals. Dan will focus on external relationships, community support, fundraising, and ensuring a smooth transition. In addition, Dan and Sandi will continue to collaborate as they have done very successfully over the past four years,” said Ian Rieger, Chairman of the Board.

“Having served as President and CEO since the inception of Hospice of Orange and Sullivan Counties, Inc., it has been my honor and privilege to lead this organization in bringing the best Hospice care to the communities we serve,” said Dan Grady.

“Sandi’s position as President and COO will ensure our goals in providing patients and families with compassionate physical, emotional, and spiritual end-of-life care and will further the agency’s goals of treating every patient with comfort, dignity, and respect,” said Grady.

Cassese joined Hospice of Orange and Sullivan Counties, Inc. four years ago with an extensive background in healthcare. Cassese’s previous experience includes healthcare and leadership experience in clinical operations, strategic planning, program development, business, regulatory compliance, and more. She earned a bachelor’s degree in Nursing from The State University of New York at New Paltz and a master’s degree in Community Health from Sage Graduate School.
