Saint Augustine’s Parish will host its Second Annual Flavors of the World Christmas Market on Saturday, Dec. 7, and Sunday, Dec. 8, at St. Augustine’s School, 35 Philips Ave., Highland.
The two-day event will feature authentic cuisines from 18 countries, including Turkish, Ghanaian, Peruvian, Jamaican, Japanese, Thai, Hungarian, and Italian. Desserts will include an array of delicacies, highlighted by internationally themed cream puffs.
In addition to food, attendees can enjoy music and trivia with DJ Tony Flash, explore hallways lined with artisans and crafters, and visit the kids’ activities room for games and prizes. Santa Claus will make special appearances Saturday from 3-5 p.m. and Sunday from 1-3 p.m.
A performance of the Nutcracker Party by dancers from Madeline’s Dance Center is scheduled for Saturday at 2 p.m. The One More Time Thrift Shop will also be open with special Flash Sales throughout the weekend.
The market will also host a toy drive in partnership with Ulster County Community Action. Donors will receive a raffle ticket for each toy donated, which can be used for the wreath raffle. Additional fundraising activities include daily 50/50 drawings.
“Our parish is excited to yet again host this event that is bound to become a staple in our community,” said Father John Lynch, pastor of Saint Augustine’s Church. “Not only will this event provide fun and entertainment, but it will also help support our roof replacement project for our school, now serving as a community center.”
