“The Pine Bush Lions Club was thrilled to be able to bring together the community for our annual Harvest Festival this year,” said Tracy Wilson, Lion Vice-President. “After taking a hiatus in 2020 it was refreshing to see people back out, catching up with neighbors, supporting vendors and of course, the best was seeing the smiling faces.”

The Pine Bush Lions Club Harvest Festival was held on a picture perfect Saturday on Main Street. Vendors, crafters community groups and service organizations set up tents with displays of their wares or information for passersby to take on-the-go. The Pine Bush Ambulance Corps hoped to recruit additional volunteers and shared they would be participating in a recruitment event on September 26 from 11 a.m. – 3 p.m. at the Shawangunk Firehouse.

Senior Vice-Commander Cory Kilvert and Commander Daniel D’Ambrozio of VFW Post 5492 want to extend an invitation to the community to attend this years Veteran’s Day service on November 11 at 11 a.m. in the Crawford Town Park where they will unveil the Hometown Heroes Banner.

Boy Scout Troop 02 was on hand with a selection of alien rocks that glow in the dark that were left-overs from the UFO Festival while also raising funds by selling seasonally festive cornstalks. The group were also slated to be cleaning up Main Street following the event.

Equine Rescue Resource, Inc. brought Dakota and Polly out for a meet and greet with visitors. The organization is looking for both volunteers and financial support. To learn more, visit their website www.equinerescueresource.com.

A variety of delicious smells from the food vendors was the best advertisement for refreshments and the Famer’s Market was stationed in the same area as the Touch a Truck activities.

Asked about the planning, Wilson said, “It was a group effort with Keith Hindley of Soulshine Market covering the entertainment planning, Kelly Alday, Candace Scott and myself organized vendors, Kim Richner handled logistics including working with the Town of Crawford and police communication, Steve Decker with Sue Wiand were good liaisons linking the past and present, and everyone had role in bringing the Harvest Festival to life. It is held annually on the third Saturday in September.”
