New Windsor Solar Farm still needs review

Posted

Arden Consulting Engineers returned before the New Windsor Planning Board last Wednesday, June 22 for a review of their proposed solar farm project looking to be built at 108 Windsor Highway. The project features two lots totaling 13.12 acres where the placement of the solar panels would be on the hillside along Windsor Highway.

During the April 27 Planning Board meeting, concerns were raised by board members to Arden Consulting about the visual impact of the panels along the hillside of Windsor Highway. The proposed panels would be placed on a hillside and those who are driving into the City of Newburgh and into the Town of New Windsor may find difficulty with them. Similar visual concerns were brought forward again during the recent meeting with Arden Consulting.

The Planning Board did not make a decision on the site plan and requested a review of the visual impact for the site by the project engineer.
