Following a brief public hearing, the Montgomery Village Board, last week, renewed its cable television franchise agreement with Spectrum Northeast, LLC, an indirect subsidiary of Charter Communications.
Village Attorney Will Frank reminded residents that the franchise agreement is non-exclusive, meaning that if another company (such as Verizon Fios) wanted to come into the village, it would be permitted.
Frank said that with the approval, Spectrum would still need to file for any price increases with the Public Service Commission
