The Middle Hope Fire Co. Ladies’ Auxiliary invites you to their Annual Holiday Breakfast on Sunday, December 8, from 8:00 to 11:30 a.m. at 11 Latintown Road.
Start your morning with pancakes, eggs, sausage, and more! Tickets are $10 for adults, $8 for seniors, $5 for children aged 4-10, and free for those under 4. Santa will be stopping by for pictures, so don’t miss out!
School News
The Marlboro Central School District Board of Education will hold a workshop meeting on Thursday, December 5, at 7:00 p.m. at the Town of Marlborough Court Room, 21 Milton Turnpike.
Congratulations to Junell Buzzurro, recipient of the Ulster County School Boards Association Distinguished Friend of Education Award! Buzzurro’s dedication to PTAs and her tireless community involvement were recognized during the UCSBA annual dinner on November 21 in Kingston.
Marlboro High School seniors Abigail Wiese and Loretta Santora have committed to collegiate athletics! Abigail will row for the University at Albany, and Loretta will swim for Central Connecticut University. Both were honored during a signing ceremony on November 20.
Santa Is Coming!
The Marlborough Fire District is prepping for Santa’s test flight! Join us for the 9th Annual Santa Run on Saturday, December 14, starting at 11:00 a.m. Santa will travel through the town, with updates from Mission Control at the firehouse. Bring a poinsettia to honor a loved one this Christmas. Drop-offs are December 18-22 at daily or weekend masses, or at the rectory. Names will be included in the bulletin. Questions? Email or call St. Mary’s Church.
Recipe of the Week:
Amish Cinnamon Bread
For The Batter: 1 cup butter, softened, 2 cups of sugar, 2 eggs, 2 cups buttermilk or homemade buttermilk— (2 cups milk plus 2 tablespoons vinegar or lemon juice) 4 cups of flour, 2 teaspoons of baking soda. For The Cinnamon/Sugar Mixture: 2/3 cups of sugar, 2 teaspoons cinnamon.
How To Make Amish Cinnamon Bread: Cream together butter, 2 cups of sugar, and eggs. Add milk, flour, and baking soda. Put 1/2 of batter (or a little less) into greased loaf pans (1/4 in each pan). Mix in separate
bowl the 2/3 c sugar and cinnamon.
Sprinkle 3/4 of cinnamon mixture on top of the 1/2 batter in each pan. Add the remaining batter to the pans, sprinkle with the last cinnamon topping. Swirl with a knife. Bake at 350 degrees for 45-50 min. or until a toothpick tester comes clean. Cool in pan for 20 minutes before removing from pan. Makes 2 loaves. Enjoy.
