On Friday, May 31, 2024 the Marlboro Middle School hosted its annual S.T.AR. breakfast. S.T.A.R. represents “Students That Are Remarkable.” Twenty-seven students from the Marlboro Middle School were selected by their teachers from all curriculum areas, for exhibiting admirable traits both during and beyond the school day. The Marlboro Middle School strives to encourage students to possess admirable characteristics that will support their development into successful citizens.
Students, their parents, teachers, Mrs. Clinton-MMS Principal, and Mr. Stanmyer-MMS Assistant Principal, gathered in the Marlboro Middle School for an honorary breakfast where students received awards for their achievements.
Marlboro Town Supervisor Scott Corcoran was the guest speaker. Mr. Corcoran spoke about how being good students and always trying their best will help them succeed in life. He spoke about being a kid himself and how he tried to help with town government and how that helped him become the Supervisor today. He advised the students to “pick good friends for they will support you in life.” He discussed being hardworking, kind, helpful, responsible, honest, respectful, motivated and having a good work ethic. In closing he said, “As I tell all our Town employees, don’t ever say you can’t do something... as leaders work together to solve the difficult problems.” The Marlboro Middle School is proud to honor these students and hopes to praise a new group of admirable students next fall.
