On July 27, at about 11:59 p.m., City of Newburgh Police Officers received a Shotspotter activation in the area of 207 Lake Drive for five rounds. Officers located a victim, a 29-year-old Newburgh resident, in the area of 177 Lake Drive who had sustained two gunshot wounds – one to his upper chest, and another to his bicep. Officers immediately performed CPR and attempted to render lifesaving aid. The victim was transported to St. Luke’s Hospital, where he was ultimately pronounced deceased.
