Hometown hero banner raised in New Windsor

Posted

The Town of New Windsor installed its first Hometown Heroes Banner on the morning of August 20 in front of town hall along Union Avenue. The first installed banner honors the late U.S. Marine Corps Corporal Joseph S. Tremblay.

“Honoring our local veterans has been a priority of mine. I can’t think of a better way to honor them while giving New Windsor a more hometown feel in the process,” said Supervisor Stephen Bedetti. “I’d also like to thank the town employees who helped get this program off the ground, specifically former Recreation Director Matt Veronesi, Deputy CITO Patrick Mangan, and Paralegal Jessica Marina. We are running this program in house and helping keep costs down.”

The New Windsor Hero banner program will give families and friends a chance to honor those who have or currently serve our country with a banner along the main traffic corridors of New Windsor. All honorees must live in or have lived in New Windsor.
