Yarn and Yak is inclusive of all yarn crafters who want to come to the library work on their projects with us, get a little help and make new friends in the process.

Come craft with us on the third Tuesday of the month (1 - 2 p.m.) while we spin our yarns and produce amazing handmade items. If you don’t have a yarn craft to work on, not to worry. We have a project for you. You can learn how to loom knit hats with donated yarn that will provide much needed warmth to folks who need a little handmade comfort in their lives right here in our community.

You don’t have to loom knit. You can crochet or knit in the traditional style or be as fancy as you want. The important thing this that we are creating together.

Art Adventures for Adults  is held on Tuesdays from 1 to 2:30 p.m. Check the Program Calendar for availability. We work with a variety of mediums; yarn, painting, loom knitting, weaving, soap making, candle making, embroidery, paper crafts and the latest craft techniques.

Curbside craft: Make a Sea Diorama Craft Kit.

For ages 8-12. Curbside: Sea Diorama Craft Kits are available to be picked up through our curbside service or by stopping in all week long until Saturday, August 13. There are only 10 kits available for the week.  The kit includes box, templates and instructions. Registration is required.

New to the craft kits are a book that will go with the subject of the craft. Book needs to be returned within 3 weeks from when you checked it out.  Crafts need to be picked up within the week of the craft.

Pictures of crafts made are encouraged. Please email them to: sottaviano@highlandlibrary.org.
