Elementary School Principal Ian MacCormack said the November Leader of the Pack for the Elementary School, Ellisse (Ziah) Suderio, was unable to attend last week’s School Board meeting.
MacCormack said Ziah is a fifth grade student and is described by her teacher Kristin Bove as a, “very responsible, kind and conscientious student. She is a wonderful young lady.”
Thomas Schlappich said, “she is a terrific student in Physical Education and is enthusiastic from the moment she enters the gym and extremely co-operative with her classmates; an all around great kid.”
Band teacher Karen Adamec said Ziah, “is a dedicated student, hard-working, always very attentive and goes above and beyond to help others.”
Jodie McCaffrey shared that Ziah, “is a model student in music and chorus. She is always listening, always following direction and is a kind person. I love having Ziah as a student.”
Middle School Assistant Principal Sarah Hathaway presented Juliana Gasparian as the Highland Middle School Leader of the Pack.
Marissa Torres said, “Juliana consistently tries her best in class and works diligently to complete all her work. She is a great student and person.”
Lisa Neer said, “Juliana is a hard-working student in seventh grade. She has improved her skills by attending the Art Club, SWORD Club and SAIL. Juliana is well-liked by her teachers and she puts effort into every assignment.”
Mr. Earley said that, “Juliana is an exceptional student and an even better human being. She is always working hard and does everything that is asked of her in physical education. We could not think of a better candidate for this award.”
Eric Peterson said, “Juliana is a sweet, kind, respectful young lady. She always works hard in math class and is a model example of how students should conduct themselves while in class.”
Hathaway added her own comments about Juliana, “She has always been very sweet and a pleasure to see in the cafeteria and I am super glad that she has our award.”
High School Assistant Principal Evan Kirsch introduced Hope Williams as their November Leader of the Pack.
Christina Saylor, of the Social Studies department, said, “Hope brings light into every room she enters. She is willing to try any activity from the most mundane and boring to the most creative and out of her comfort zone. She leads by example and other students join in. She is an inspiration and is one of the most highly respected students by the staff here at the school.”
Lisa Otis, of the Foreign Language Department, described Hope as a wonderful student. “She is always willing to help, whether it be supporting her class with fundraising or helping a student in need, academically or otherwise. She’s got such a positive energy and is a joy in the classroom.”
Josh Tatum, of the English Department, said, “Hope is a super-motivated young woman and brings a wonderful enthusiasm and determination to every endeavor she undertakes from classroom assignments to extracurricular activities and has been a pleasure to work with in every single capacity this year.”
Kristin Candia, who is Hope’s Guidance Counselor, said, “She is an incredible young woman who works hard at everything she does. She is an exceptional student who excels in all her courses at the High School and is a true leader among her peers.”
Varsity Girls Lacrosse coach Ian Becker said, “I’ve had the pleasure of knowing Hope before she started kindergarten when she was following in her sister’s footsteps playing Lacrosse. Hope has grown into a true leader both on and off the field.”
Dr. Chris Sgro, of the Science Department, commented that, “Hope is personable, kind and driven and is one of the most active students in extracurricular clubs in the school.”
Ela Skrabak, also of the Science Department said, “Hope is a great leader and takes initiative in student council and is a role model for her peers.”
Math teacher Stefanie Whiston said Hope is, “always positive and constantly shows motivation through all her course work and is a dependable student teammate and friend.”
Kirsch added, “I get the pleasure to see Hope every single morning getting dropped off and is the perfect person to see in the morning to start the day off right.”
School Board President Alan Barone concluded the presentation by saying, “On behalf of the Board of Education, congratulations to our Leaders of the Pack.”
